Columbia digital marketing agency acquires New York firm
Cyberwoven, a full-service digital marketing agency in Columbia, has acquired a Brooklyn, N.Y., brand consultancy that works with universities, nonprofits and other purpose-driven organizations.
Cyberwoven, which specializes in brand, web and marketing, announced the acquisition of the Additive Agency LLC, which now is called Additive Impact LLC, according to a news release. The purchase price was not disclosed.
The acquisition combines Additive’s expertise in enterprise-level brand strategy, messaging, architecture and visual identity with Cyberwoven’s digital capabilities, Cyberwoven said in the release.
Additive has built a reputation working nationally on “transforming brands for good” — from universities to hospitals and health systems, nonprofits and other purpose-driven organizations. Thie services span from brand expressions and experiences to empowering clients to achieve success. Clients include Harlem Children’s Zone, Syracuse University, Mount Sinai and Phoenix Children’s.
Combining the two companies means clients will benefit from an expanded suite of services, including brand development, encompassing brand research, strategic planning, brand strategy and story development and visual and verbal identity creation, the release stated. Clients also will have access to integrated marketing and communications planning, along with digital activation services.
“Joining forces with Cyberwoven aligns with our mission to transform causes, conversations, and communities for good,” Hayley Berlent, founder of Additive, said in the release. “This strategic alliance enables us to share our ideas more widely and scale our impact more broadly.”
Ben Rex, CEO of Cyberwoven, founded the company in 2001.
“This acquisition will significantly strengthen our market position and broaden our service offerings,” Rex said in the release. “The integration of Additive’s capabilities into our operations allows us to meet the needs of clients at every level — from regional to national to global — and expand our relationships with purpose-driven clients.”
He said the alliance means a wider range of solutions and capabilities that will ensure more continuity and stability for each firm’s clients and partners.

- Brand experiences — integrated marketing and communications planning, and brand activation, including website design, customer journey mapping and campaign implementation.
“Additive’s expertise complements Cyberwoven’s existing capabilities, enabling us to drive innovation and create exciting new opportunities for all who seek to partner with us — from clients and collaborators to employees,” David May, president of Cyberwoven, said in the release. “Together, Additive and Cyberwoven will weave an expansive set of strategies, stories and experiences for our clients.”
