Yorkshire-based parcel delivery firm Evri wins two year extension on Debenhams Group delivery contract

Yorkshire-based parcel delivery firm Evri wins two year extension on Debenhams Group delivery contract

The contract extension with Debenhams, which owns a range of brands including PrettyLittleThing, boohoo, boohooMAN and Karen Millen, marks the long-standing relationship between the two companies, which has been in place since 2014.

Announcing the deal, Evri said Debenhams Group customers will benefit from the launch of the company’s new £50m locker strategy, which aims to more than double its network of ParcelShops and Lockers by 2030, reaching 25,000 locations.

The renewed partnership follows a number of key strategic announcements for the Yorkshire-based delivery company, including a proposed merger with DHL UK eCommerce, alongside the acquisition of Ireland’s Coll-8 – a leading independent customs clearance and logistics specialist.

David Saenz, Evri chief commercial officer, said: “We’re thrilled to further bolster our relationship with the Debenhams Group and its brands, as we move into this next phase of our partnership.

“In what has been over a decade of working together, it’s been incredible for both businesses to grow alongside one another, and this is evidenced in the increased volume of parcels we are forecasting to deliver to their customers this year.

“This is an exciting time for Evri, as we invest in doubling our ParcelShop and locker network by 2030, as well as the announcement of our proposed merger with DHL eCommerce UK, all of which makes it particularly special for us that we can continue to strengthen our long-term client relationships.”

Dan Finley, Debenhams Group chief executive, added: “As a global business serving millions of customers, delivering a seamless and reliable service is our top priority.

“Today’s shoppers expect speed, flexibility and full visibility when it comes to receiving their items, whenever and however they choose to shop.

“This is exactly what we have found in our partnership with Evri. As we continue to scale our marketplace model, we’re delighted to extend this partnership with Evri, giving customers greater choice and convenience as they shop thousands of brands at Debenhams Group.”

Evri’s merger with DHL eCommerce UK, which should be completed by the end of this year, will see the combined businesses deliver more than one billion parcels a year.

The company, which currently delivers around 900 million parcels a year, employs over 8,000 staff and 28,000 couriers, and operates a nationwide network of ParcelShops  and Lockers and hubs and depots.
